My HP all-in-one failed after 5 years of light home use, repair was going to cost (much) more than a replacement I was told. Looking for a replacement, I noticed much better reviews for Canon products than for HP ones at Amazon. Also I had problems with the HP software from day one and ever since and was anxious to uninstall it once and for all. Installing the Canon mp610 was a breeze and everything worked the very first time. Print, scan, copy and photo speed and quality are great, as good or better than HP. Features I like, particularly in comparison to my former HP, are individual, transparent ink cartriges, control panel and all feed and output trays close when not in use to keep the unit looking tidy and dust-free inside. The only negative I would mention is that it is a bit larger in size than some of the newer competitive products. Hopefully a bit larger size and substantial weight are indicators of a sturdy and reliable design that will last longer than my old HP......

I have only had this product for about a month, but so far it has been great. I was able to hook up a wireless network so all the computers in my house can print off of it, though the desktop that it is connected to needs to be on for the others to print. The quality of the scans and copies are great. The speed it prints is very fast and the ink so far has not gone down at all from what I can tell. Great product

Rating: - Great Printer/Scanner/Copier for the $$ - RECOMMEND!!
I decided on this printer after reading other reviews. After 5 years of using a Canon S630, the print head died. I like that Canon uses individual ink cartridges. The Canon Pixma MP610 is easy to set up and start using, I just plugged in and printed. Being able to load paper from a front tray or the back using the Feed Switch button is VERY convenient. It has a nice feature of opening the paper exit door on it's own just before the final print copy comes out. The scanning and coping capabilities work well and are convenient to have in an all in one machine. The color quality is very good. The navigation buttons are simple to use. It prints fast and VERY quiet. The price was right and I am happy I bought it.

this is an excellent multi-pass printer. Very easy to operate in all modes. I particularly like the additional cassette feed tray Which I use for 4 x 6 photo paper
