Rating: - The "Read-a-holic's" Dream Machine!
This is a superb product! Too often I will find myself in a situation where I am out of reading material. My Kindle supports my "habit". Also, I am able to affordably indulge myself at all hours of the day and night!

One suggested improvement...add a local time display at the bottom of the screen that users can either set manually, or automatically via wireless network.

Rating: - The Kindle "rekindled" my passion for reading
For about a year I was on the fence about whether I wanted to get a Kindle or not. Well after doing months of research on it and going between "I want one" to "I really don't need one".
Well I finally caved and bought one for myself and have had no regrets since picking one up. The ability to change font sizes is just awesome for when my astigmatism starts acting up. Not too mention the fact that I don't have to be in a wireless hot spot to get books is just awesome. This way if I finish a book while on a bus or even at work I can get another one just like that.
Reading on it is a dream and best of all it's all one handed so I don't have to position myself awkwardly in bed to keep the book open. A lot of people complain about the screen flicker but honestly it's not that bad it makes it seem like an actual book turning the pages.
If I had to make one complaint about it is the fact that if you don't put it into sleep mode (where the screen saver comes up) it's very easy to change pages and not know it. This mostly only happens when it's in the case that came with it (which is not nearly as bad as everyone says it is, my Kindle has yet to fall out of it).
The only thing you really have to worry about is falling in love with reading again. Well at least I did, because I can adjust size to match how my eyes feel at that particular time in the day. Oh and spending more money than you have on books, they are just so easy to get!

Rating: - the end of carrying books around !!
the kindle is a great invention. i travel often and usually carry 6-7 books around. all that is over !! now i always have my favorite books with me, and can buy new ones without visiting a store. reading from the kindle is a pleasure. and with the different font-sizes you don't need reading glasses !

so it is fabulous ! but as always there are a few issues :
- a built in reading light could be an idea
- the previous/next page buttons take up the whole side. they should be smaller, so you can hold the device without accidentally flipping the pages
- the wireless service DOES NOT WORK OUTSIDE THE USA and that is a pity. nobody told me.

What an outstanding reading device. I especially appreciate that I can increase the font size and read without my reading glasses. And so portable!! I don't have to haul around heavy books when I'm on a trip - everything fits so beautifully on this device. Because the Kindle feels so book-like, several times I attempted to physically turn the page. I never dreamed that an "electronic book" would be so successful.
