DVD : Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Collector's Set (40 discs)

Rating: - For a Buffy fan this is a must.
Back when Buffy was on, my son kept telling me that I would really like this show. When I heard it was about vampires and having seen the movie by the same name, it took a long time for me to give it a chance. But once I did, I was hooked. The writing and direction were so good it has to be one of my favorite shows of all time. Last year I bought this collection at full price and have loved it. This year, I bought another set on black Mon. for $99. and am giving the gift of Buffy back to my son.

Rating: - Best Boxed Set Ever
This is by far the best boxed set I have ever seen or purchased. It's timeless colors suit the show at it's very core. I love everything that Joss personally added into this special Collector's Set. I got this as a birthday present and couldn't have been happier.

It shipped here from the other side of the country and arrived NOT dented and NOT broken in any way. For those of you who had problems with the disc holders being shattered don't blame Fox or Joss, blame the people who delivered it. If my package made it here completely whole from the other side of the country then I think it can hold it's own.

The boxed set is easy to use and every visual aspect is perfect. From the flip down front to the stackable Buffy Cast. LOL. The little book is great. Yes, I know this was in the regular season sets as well but they don't have the little tidbits about Joss's favorite episodes. The bonus disc has a LOT of fun and scary behind the scenes videos. I loved it. The disc print I believe are the same as the regular seasons which feature a different cast member on each disc. Each season being a different background color. Work then, works now. It's great. The discs hold the same information as the regular season discs. The menus are beautiful. My only complaint every about Buffy DVD's is that the order in which the episodes play are sometimes confusing. Sometimes it goes down then over and sometimes it goes over then down. But if you watch it highlights the next one so that helps. As does the pretty little book. However if you are new to Buffy, reading the book tends to take away some surprises from the episode. When I introduced this set to my boyfriend after a couple episodes he banned the book. HA HA. But I could still tell him what every season was.

And people please don't complain about the price. Back when it was going to be limited edition I paid a LOT more for it than it is now. And that was through Amazon because they were they only ones to have it PERIOD.

If you're looking for a one-stop shop to fulfill all of your Buffy needs, you have come to the right place. All of the eps are here, some with commentary, some good featurettes, and a brand new disc of extras for those who have already purchased the individual seasons on dvd. The new disc includes a great roundtable Buffy discussion led by the all-powerful Joss Whedon. So don't be afraid to get your geek on and squander too much money and time over this lovely boxed set of Buffy goodness. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch Buffy and Angel do it for the first time all over again. Can't wait to see what happens...

Rating: - Omigod
Being one of extremely slow people who didn't "get" Buffy until early in the 6th season, I compensated for my slowness by falling hard, fast and loyal to this show. Being a television geek as well, knowing just enough about television production to make me dangerous to be around, the luxury of being able to watch and listen to the commentaries and interviews as well as review every single nuance of every single show is now crucial to the maintenance of my sanity. The product is well worth every cent because if you are any kind of Buffy fan at all,(and maybe even if you aren't) you owe it to yourself to get the complete series. Nothing else should satisfy.
