Bought this for a relative and it broke (after the 30 days period when Amazon would have refunded the full price). That's when the company informed us there is no warranty on their product when sold online. Basically what they are saying is their product is so bad that a warranty costs the extra one hundred and ten dollars you pay by buying it at a salon. Even at the reduced Amazon price it's still a pricey item (and not that complicated) so a 1 (or 5) year warranty should not be a problem for them if they have any quality control.

Rating: - CHI Flat iron
I made this purchase to replace an identical CHI flat iron that I had purchased at my hair salon last year. That iron cost me over $140.00 whereas the flat iron I purchased through Amazon cost well under a $100.00. I'm very satisfied with this product I had to replace my original iron due to heavy use and numerous drops on the tile floor. The iron does a nice job of straightening hair.

Rating: - NO IMITATIONS
My daughter needed a CHI, so I traded my CHI for her "imitation" brand thinking I didn't have that much hair to straighten, hers would be fine for my short hair style. WRONG there is no flat iron like the CHI, the ceramic part is so smooth your hair just glides through without pulling like the cheaper models. And with just one swipe, you have straight hair, without frying the ends. I am a believer. So are both of my girls, and daughter in law.

Rating: - Will go back to the sedu....
I've used a Sedu and had hoped this Chi would be comparable - especially since it (the Chi) came at a great price on Amazon. It is okay, good, but not GREAT like I had expected.

I do appreciate that the iron heats up very fast and I love that the cord is so long and swivels - makes it easy to use anywhere.

I do however, have to run the iron over my hair several times and I've found that my hair is not as smooth - both not an issue with the Sedu.

I will probably replace sooner than anticipated and return to what works best for my hair. This Chi isn't necessarily for me.

I love this flat iron. It heats up in something like 30 seconds and it makes my hair look great. I highly recommend this product if you have thick hair that tends to frizz. This product will take the frizz away and keep it away until you get it wet.
