Kitchen & Housewares : Malaseb Spray 8oz

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Spray seems to cause kitten pain
I've used the shampoo and spray on a litter of kittens that had ringworm. The remaining kitten was the last to catch the ringworm. The shampoo is fine, but for some reason, the malaseb spray seems to cause him a lot of pain. Everytime i spray him with it, he starts crying and walking backwards and shaking. I've washed it off and he stops the shaking and crying. I've used the spray on the other kittens before without any problems so it seems like certain animals can be sensitive to the spray.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Use Between Bathing
I use Malaseb shampoo on my dog and between baths I use this spray. It keeps down the amount of times he needs bathed. It takes off the pollen and other things that he allergic to.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - malesab spray for itch
The spray is somewhat sticky. Our female pet dog still scratches herself. Her skin is irritated in some areas. She has itch. The spray appears to sting her somewhat when applied. At least she walks quickly around the room after I spray her. Maybe it takes more time to be effective. Let's see what happens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - For Your Dog's Itchiness
I've tried the shampoo and ear cleaner and thought I'd give the spray a try. Seems to help.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Very effective, takes awhile to dry
This is working very well on my mare's scratches (fungal infection of the lower legs). Before I bought her in April, she spent all winter in a soggy pasture, up to her hocks in mud. The scabbing up of scratches can be ver disturbing and can happen very quickly on horses (overnight, a patch of skin can ulcerate), but Malaseb beats it into submission very quickly. The scratches will, however, take awhile to totally vanquish, partly because I can't run out to the barn (not where I live) three times a day as recommended (I have a thing called a job). But even the 5-7 treatments a week I give her are having an effect.

Two cons: the first is that I used this in combination with furacin (a sulfa drug in a lanolin-rich cream) or Swat (a skin lubricant with fly repellant to keep flies away from weepy sores) to lubricate the scabbing. Not only did the dirt attracted to the creams dirty up the wounds, but I got the feeling that the chemicals reacted with one another. So I'm using malaseb only for now. Steady as she goes. Secondly, the malaseb takes awhile to dry. After keeping my horse in crossties for 20 minutes waiting for the stuff to dry (it still hadn't), I finally cut her loose and watched her. She wasn't licking her feet and from that point on, I've just engaged in "spray 'n pray." So far, so good.
