Great product. Reliable, helpful, easy to operate. Bought this on the recommendation of a couple of friends who also rave about it. Works both in the pocket and on the belt.

Rating: - Good fitness tool
I got this for my wife to use - she likes it. It is similar to the Omron HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer with Advanced Omron Health Management Software (see separate review) except it does not have the capability to download data to a computer. (There is a hard plastic cover where the USB port is on mine - one day I will open it to see what is there ...) The lack of data download is not a problem for exercise purposes as we do our long walks together. However, it does make it less convenient to track all-day use.

The reason I bought this instead of two of the HJ-720ITC units is because I did not need two copies of the software and two interface cables. A suggestion for the manufacturer is to open up the interface port to provide the download capability for customers who already have the Omron software and the now-ubiquitous mini-USB data cable.

Rating: - great purchase
This was a great purchase. I have tried several other cheaper pedometers in the past. They were very inaccurate and did not last very long. I have had this product for over a month and my husband was so impressed that he ordered his own. It works great in a pocket, you don't have to worry with clips etc. I have also just carried it in my purse-- I do not think it is as accurate that way, but it still gives me a great idea of how much I have walked if I do not have a pocket to put it in. I highly encourage you to purchase this product if you are thinking about it.

This pedometer is great! It amazed me that as a server, I walked 5-7 miles inside my restaurant every shift!!
I love being able to just slip it in my pocket and forget about it.

Rating: - instant gratification!
I purchased the Omron HJ112 about 4 weeks into my walking routine, having been recommended by my walking partner, who owns one. It is easy to program, and the only thing I had to learn from the instruction manual was how to determine my stride. I've found it to be pretty accurate..my 6.2 mile walk ( according to the car odometer) actually steps out to between 6.2 and 6.5 depending on my stride(as compared to what I've entered it as) and how fast I walk it. I LOVE the instant gratification of seeing over 12,000 steps in a workout, and the calories burned definitely gives you feel good points. It gives you accountability and I've recommended it to several friends.
