Rating: - Cleans teeth great but toothbrush is impossible to clean
I LOVE the way my teeth feel after using this toothbrush. But I've had it for over 6 months and the handle/base is disgusting. There are [unnecessary?] crevices in the handle where the brush head attaches and it's a haven for bacteria and mold. Yep, mold is growing in the handle of my toothbrush. I've tried using rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to clean it, but it's still disgusting because nothing will fit into those tiny crevices. I've read other people's complaints about this on the internet but I see no good cleaning methods suggested, and the Sonicare website makes it sound like it's a breeze to clean once a week: "Wipe away any residue you find, including the area covered by the cuff, with a soft cloth or paper towel. To clean your handle, run a damp cloth around the recessed area once a week." If it were only that easy.

On the other hand, every time I brush this toothbrush makes my teeth feel like I just came from the dentist. And I just had my first dentist appointment since using the Sonicare and cleaning my teeth was a breeze for the hygenist...barely any plaque to scrape off at all. (The prior appointment was an excrutiating 45 minutes of scraping and sore gums for days after.)

Please note that if you're not used to using a powerful electric toothbrush, it will take you about 2 weeks to get fully used to this toothbrush. The first time will be a shock and you'll wonder how brushing your teeth with that toothbrush could ever be pleasurable. But try it for 2 weeks before making a final decision.

I would have given this toothbrush 5 stars easily if it weren't for the cleaning issue.

Rating: - Wish We Had It In The 60's!
The Sonicare system has given me back my tooth enamel. After my first generation Sonicare unit stopped working, I decided to go back to a manual toothbrush, since I didn't want the expense of a new Sonicare. My dentist let me know that my tooth enamel was wearing away, since I was brushing too hard! He recommended the Philips Sonicare. I decided to purchase the Elite series and my teeth are already feeling cleaner and looking healthier. I like the improvements with the LED display, the newer contoured brushes, and the power and speed of the unit. Wish we had had this in the early 60's when I was growing up. I believe my teeth would have benefitted immensely.

Love both of the Sonicares. Still have the older version. With the new one is so much easier to reach the back teeth.

Rating: - Great polish but annoying tickling vibration & no deep clean feeling
This toothbrush is great for making your teeth shine as if you came right from the dentist. The problem is that it works by vibrating its head rapidly which makes for an uncomfortable & tickley brushing experience. Also, it feels like it doesn't do well to get in between teeth. I'm currently in the process of finding out what the model name and manufacturer of my previous electric toothbrush was so I can go and buy that one again.

Edit: I found it and its just as amazing as I remembered it. It's the Conair Interplak toothbrush! It doesn't tickle, it gets in between teeth and makes them shine, and it removes the need for dental floss! I'm SOOO happy I found it again!

Rating: - great toothbrush
I have been using this brush for over 3 years and my dental checkups have been great and I noticed whiter teeth after using for 3-4 months. My only problem with the brush is that the battery died after 3 years and I had to buy another one as there was no way to replace the battery. Other than that a great product that does what it says it does.
