Rating: - Disappointed
I'm a little disappointed this reel will not cut dandelions or certain weeds. This fact is not stated in the advertisement but casually mentioned in the owners manual. Unfortunately I didn't see this fact until I had tried to cut my lawn with it or I would have sent it back. I tried to go green but this machine leaves a lot to be desired.

Rating: - Not what I expected.
I like the light weight of the mower, how sharp the blades are and how compact it is for storage. However, it doesn't cut grass that is any taller than 4 inches (just bends it over) and doesn't cut sparse grass. It works great in thick areas. I wanted to adjust it so it'll cut herbs in a stone pathway, but it's quite complex to get at the axle to do so. I'm sticking with it because I'm trying to help our environment, it's much quieter than a power mower, and it's good exercise.

Rating: - Saves on gas!
This mower was extremely easy to put together and is very easy to operate. I like that it is not complicated at all and can be used by my 10 year old to help me mow our lawn. The one thing I do not like is that it does not cut some weeds that are prevalent in my lawn, such as dandelions. It just goes over them and will not cut them no matter how many times you go over them. But the fact that it is quiet, easy to push, uses no gas and was easy to put together does give it an advantage in my opinion. Another small drawback is that it does not cut a close edge as gas mowers do. But if you have a nice lawn with no weeds (or relatively few) it does a very good job. All in all, I am glad I made this purchase.

Rating: - Great - for specific types of yards
I think this is great - if your yard is flat (no hills), and if you do not have ANY branches or twigs or leaves in your yard. if you do, leaves will make it "slip/skip", and even the smallest twigs will get it stuck (it will not cut through small twigs). oh yeah, and if your grass is "too long" (i have yet to figure out what is "too long") then it will not cut well. it will skip over grass that is too long. I'd say, every 2 weeks max - but even so, i have to go over the same spot a few times. otherwise - yes - this is pretty neat. heavier than i thought, but nice to not have to use gas.

Rating: - Awesome Green Machine!
The first Saturday morning I had my Scott mower out, four people stopped by to look it over! One lady has balance problems and asked if she could try it out; she loved it! Her comment was, "it's a mower I can use that won't run away with me!" How awesome is that?! It was easy to assemble and it cuts beautifully. I would recommend this mower without reservation. It is also reasonably priced; I can use it anytime - it's quiet, doesn't use gas and oil so it's a clean machine...I just love it! One more feature -- it gives me the chance to exercise in a fun way!
