I bought this set because I wanted to watch them again before going to the 4th Indiana Jones movie. I am really disappointed. I have to say, unlike real classics, these three movies are outdated. The plots are silly, the chase sequences are unbearably noisy and unnecessary. Spielberg makes popular movies. But just like most of the pop culture, they just fade away in time.

Let's face it...If you are buying this, you are buying it because you enjoy these films or wish to discover them for the first time. After 20+ years, these films stand the test of time and set the bar for the adventure genre. Films like The Rundown, the Tomb Raider films, and the National Treasure films owe Indiana Jones a debt of gratitude.

Each film gets its own DVD disc without extras. Typically, this means the studio wanted to create discs of the highest quality by not sacrificing space for the extras...and it shows! The extras get their own disc. Each film is crystal clear, although very contrasty. The high contrast actually adds depth to the films in my opinion, setting a certain gritty mood consistent with an treasure-hunting adventurer like Indiana Jones.

Because of the high quality transfers, these films look amazing on a high definition screen using a quality upscaling DVD player over an HDMI cable. The 5.1 sound is stunning as well. If you have a setup like this, you won't be disappointed!

Overall, these are classics.

If you are looking for the original three Indiana Jones movies, starring Harrison Ford, this trilogy set (with one extra disc of bonus features) is exactly the version you are looking for. It is a bit confusing that this product comes up as "The Adventures of Indiana Jones" first, since the tv series was named that. I assure you that these discs are the original movies. Good quality, decent price and extra bonus features- can't go wrong with a classic!
