Be careful with the model number, this "T220" is different than the "T220 HD" model with has speakers and HDMI. I searched "T220 HD", got it in the result set, and bought it by mistake. Amazon provided great service once again and I was able to return it with full credit.

- Use Monitor Calibration with Macs
This is an upgrade from a tiny 15" dell monitor that I used as a second display with an Intel Macbook Pro. I simply took it out of the box and plugged it right in. The laptop detected it at once and configured if for the max resolution of the monitor.

The first impression is that it is BRIGHT, in fact for my tastes too bright. I found that there were presets for different usage configurations (I am guessing that they are really gamma settings) but since I use this with tools like Photoshop etc. I instead went through Apple's monitor calibration (monitor control panel, color sub-panel)which gave me something that matches my macbook display and seems to be a lot truer. I know its just a monitor but I have found a soul mate minus the soul. I went from a 17 inch crt monitor to this one and it was like going from nintendo to nintendo 64 upgrade wise, any one in my age group will understand.It is very bright and clear, also very easy to adjust with the software it comes with. If you dont want to deal with that you can adjust it manually which is just as easy. The sleek design will make any crappy room look good because anyone that walks in will immediately focus on this monitor. The set up is simple as it comes with a quick set up guide and takes about 5 minutes. It comes with standard LCD monitor connectors in the VGA and DVI which gives you the choice to hook it up to a older type video card or motherboard. I bought this monitor with gameing in mind. Being it was 1080p with a 2ms response time there was no doubt in my mind this was the monitor I wanted. I have had this monitor for a week now and I can honestly say it was money well spent. At 259.00 after rebate it is deffinitly the best monitor for the price. I have hooked up my computer and my xbox 360 to the monitor and with a touch of a button i can flip flop back and forth from one to the other. There is no lag in gameing online and no floating like on my 50 inch big screen. If gameing is your thing and u r looking for a great gameing monitor look no further.

Just got this and set it up today. All I can say is "wow! what a great monitor!" It is very bright which makes videos and games exciting, yet can be easily'dimmed' in one touch for doing text, websurfing, etc. No backlilght problems or light incursion or anything like that...... right out of the box, set up and running in about 3 minutes!
