You cannot improve upon a classic and that is what this songbook attempts to do with many Beatle tunes. This was done by producer/remixer Giacomo Bondi with the help of a Beatles cover band, the Apple Pies, The aim was to give a jazzy-lounge feel to these songs and also to record them with modern multitrack techniques and remix them using the latest studio techniques. The vocals sound very much the same as the originals, there is not much reinterpetation of the songs. Some of them seem to have a more contemporary beat to them. Sometimes lyrics are dropped or abbreviated. I found these remixes to be less rocking than the originals, less vibrant and closer to easy listening.
