The over-achieving under cabinet light! These are the next best thing (and in some cases better) than fully wired under cabinet lighting. Just wave your hand once in front of the motion sensor, and the Golden Dragon LED lights up at full intensity. Wave a second time, and the bulb dims to half intensity.

I have one of these on my nightstand, and gave one to my elderly mother for hers. A simple wave of the hand turns the light on, and it casts light directly upward, onto the ceiling. It never wakes my husband, but provides me plenty of light to get in and out of the room safely. Plus, if the power goes out, I could always use it like a flashlight to move around the house, if I had to. This light would work well under a cabinet, inside a cabinet, inside a closet, or even in a car. It wasn't intended for bedside use, but there's no reason not to use it that way, and it's a softer light than turning a lamp on. These are not bad for a spot type light. The brightness is comparable to luxeon led flashlight. The light color is bright white, not amber, not soft white. The light is bright enough to cause serious damage to your eyes if you look directly into the lit light. Since it is a spotlight your would have to try to look "dead-on" into the light beam for this to happen. These are designed as under cabinet or over countertop use. So, these should be safe as designed.

Now for some little things. These lights get warm during use. I measured the upper surface (mounting) temperature of several lights while operating on BRIGHT.
