Editorial Review:

Description:
Packed with adrenaline-pumping action and heart-stopping suspense, this spectacular sequel escalates the war between sci-fi's scariest movie icons!

On Earth everyone can hear you scream, especially when a horrifying PredAlien crash-lands near a small Colorado town, killing everyone it encounters-and producing countless Alien offspring-with terrifying efficiency. When a lone Predator arrives to "clean up" the infestation, it's an all-out battle to the death with no rules, no mercy, and hundreds of innocent people caught in the crossfire. As the creature carnage continues, a handful of human survivors attempt a daring escape, but the U.S. government may be hatching a deadly plan of its own...

Amazon.com:
For those who found 2004's Aliens vs. Predator too lightweight in the gore-and-guns department, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem offers a marked improvement in both categories, as well as a respectable amount of rumbles between the title extraterrestrials. Set in the 21st century (which predates the story to all of the Alien features), Requiem sends a crippled Predator ship crashing to Earth in a small Colorado town; unbeknownst to the locals, the craft is loaded with H.R. Giger's insectoid monsters, which make quick work of most of the population. As the human cast is slowly whittled to a few hardy (if unmemorable) souls, a Predator warrior also arrives to complicate matters and do battle with the Aliens, as well as a ferocious alien-Predator hybrid (dubbed a Predalien by the sci-fi and horror press). Visual-effects designers and music-video helmers The Strause Brothers (who make their feature directorial debut here) keep the action on frantic throughout, which is wise, since the dialogue and characters are threadbare at best; that should matter little to teenage male viewers, who are inarguably the film's key audience. Fans of the Alien franchise, however, may find the offhanded nod to the series' mythology given during the finale its sole saving grace. --Paul Gaita

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Waste of Time, Money and My Patience
I can't believe I wasted my time trying to 'watch' this movie. What movie? You can't see anything because it's so poorly lit. The characters are poorly developed and you just don't care. Which in a creature feature isn't so bad. You don't really mind when the babies die, but mindless gore in this particular franchise is unheard of. Shock value is below the belt because that's not what we're expecting to see - we know it happens, but killing off the pregnant mother (through impregnation?), the father and son duo and the innocent babes on screen degrades the alien-on-alien and alien-vs-human gore to the childish nightmares for sale in films like Hostel. Give us a good 'boo' or a spine chill like the original Alien/Aliens series or give us a great combat like in Predator.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Did the writer(s) even watch the other films?
Let me start by saying, I bought this movie, without having watched it first. I know, a big no-no in the first place, right? But, being a HUGE fan of the Alien Saga, loving the first Predator movie, and really digging the first AVP (I thought they did a great job of tying the two stories together), made the mistake of believing this would be a great addition to my DVD collection. Unfortunately, I was terribly wrong. I didn't even make it through all of this one. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous how the victims began having Alien/Predator hybrid Litters! WTF!? I spent the duration of what I did watch wondering if the writers of this one ever actually watched any of the other films.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - not too bad, lighting could be WAY better!
Awsome action! Cool pred-alien, the lighting is soooo dark! You can barely see anything! The plot is pretty neat though...

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - it's completely dark!!!
i saw this film at the theater and it was a normal movie with good light and shadow. warning for the bluray version of film, every second from beginning to end is nearly pitch black. don't bother trying to adjust the color. this specific title transfer to disk is just bad!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Alien Vs Predator-Requiem-The Plot Weakens!
Here we are with the second installment in the Alien vs Predator series and already there is the definite smell of something rank in the air,and it is not a dead alien. It is unfortunately the beginning of the decay of this franchise and if something is not done to correct the situation it will be permanently terminated;and I for one will be glad of it,for its' sake and ours. That is something I thought I would never find myself saying about this series because the first one while not that good either, had much more going for it plot and acting wise, even though I rated that only three stars. As with that movie, the special effects/aliens in Requiem are the whole movie;the best things/"actors" in it.
The story starts off with the crash of the ship from the first AVP movie into a forest near a ... Read More
