- Actually, it's perfectly executed!
I had my doubts at first because it didn't have the heartbeat sound that I thought we needed to help calm our 1 month old.

She was displaying what seemed like a mild case of colic (getting fussy/upset only at nights). After researching online and looking at various books (esp the happiest baby on the block). I learned about the 5 S's. One of which was to shush her or have "white noise" which emulates the sounds of rushing fluids when they are still in the womb. I also read this several places online. I was so glad to have found this info as it not only worked perfectly, but meant that I could get this item after all!

- Works like a charm...
For both of my children, I use this sleep sheep. I set it to the "stream" and my children fall asleep within minutes. It is also nice to take when my children are sleeping in a foreign place such as on vacation or at a family members or friends house. It is a constant sound that they are familiar with. For my son, it helped me to get him to sleep through the night. Early on I would play it for him and he would fall asleep. In the middle of the night I would do the same. Within days, he was sleeping through the night. The sleep sheep works like a charm!! I HIGHLY recommend it and I actually purchase it for all of my pregnant friends.

I bought this as a gift and the couple really liked it, they said the sounds are in fact really soothing and the animal very plush.

I love that this is a portable sound machine. I can strap it on my son's car seat and take it anywhere. The 45 minute timer is also a great feature. Most noise machines out there shut off after only 10-15 minutes...right about when my son is just drifting off, and the change in sound wakes him up. The noise device can be removed and you are left with a cute stuffed toy. I highly recommend this product.

- You can barely hear the sounds
I got this cute set for my baby shower because I had heard wonderful things about it. The little sheep is very cute, but small in size. The little music adaptor slips in and out of the sheep and sometimes falls out, but that is not what I didn't like about it.

The problem with it is that I can barely hear the sounds. You have only 4 choices and even when I turn the volume up to max, the baby can barely hear it. The sounds get drowned by the baby's kicking and cooing.

It's definitely not worth buying, however, the blanket that cloud b offers might be good as compared to the sheep.

I am thinking of using the sheep myself while doing yoga or something to create a calm environment.
