This manual grater coarsely grinds cheese, chocolate, or garlic with ease. Originally designed for shaving wood, the patented 18/8 stainless-steel Microplane blade has razor-sharp teeth that make grating effortless and that won’t clog. The large 5-by-2-1/2-inch grating surface can handle bigger ingredients, such as fresh coconut, and the matching 18/8 stainless-steel frame and satin-finish offer durable support for the blade. The grater has a non-slip rubber grip just above its head to keep it steady on a tabletop during grating. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Get this steel edged version!
These Microplane graters are wonderful, and I only recommend the Professional versions. If you use your graters a lot, the plastic edges of the cheaper versions will eventually break, so spend the extra few dollars and get this steel edged Professional version to start with. I just replaced two plastic edged graters myself because they broke within nine months.

This is a perfect grater, several classes better than the one with the plastic handle (I had that first, but the handle couldn't bear the force and broke).
This one has no such problems and the rubber anti-slip band helps a lot.

The Microplane Course Grater is very much what I expected. It's very sharp and easy to use. It demolishes whatever you decide to grate with it: firm cheese, garlic, ginger, onions, carrots, or even your fingers.

Like all the other Microplane graters I have used, this one is excellent. It works beautifully for very soft cheeses such as fresh mozzarella. I recommend it highly.

When my food processor quit working, I replaced it with a set of Microplane graters (the 35000 series). At the time I placed my order, I didn't know about Microplane's professional graters (the 38000 series). However, after using them, I was so impressed that I sent the 35000 series to my daughter and ordered the professional 38000 series for myself.

I do a lot of cooking, so I know these graters are going to get a lot of use. I'm in no mood to buy another food processor, as I rarely used the one I had and a food processor takes up a lot of valuable kitchen storage space. The Microplane graters, on the other hand, fit neatly inside a drawer and have protective covers on them.
