Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Tom Dunleavy has a one-man law firm in America's wealthiest resort town-legendary East Hampton. But his job barely keeps him in paper clips. His clients make a living serving the rich. The billionaires and celebrities swarming the beaches already have lawyers on their payroll. VERY EXPENSIVE Then a friend of Tom's is arrested for a triple murder near a movie star's mansion. Tom knows in his gut that Dante Halleyville is innocent. Dante asks him to represent him in what could be the Trial of the Century. VERY EXCLUSIVE Tom recruits Manhattan superlawyer Kate Costello to help. She's a tough hire, because Kate is his ex-girlfriend-but she agrees. In their search to find who really executed three locals, Tom orchestrates a series of revelations to expose the killer-and what emerges is staggering. VERY EXPLOSIVE The final scenes of this book unveil a truth that will leave readers gasping in shock. Written with the precision that has made James Patterson "a master of his genre" (USA Today), Beach Road is his wildest, most thrilling novel ever.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Cheap Trick
The book was not great but at least it was mildly entertaining...until I got to the ending and that totally ruined it. That ending was a cheap trick by the author(s) and an insult to the reader's intelligence. A good mystery writer would never do this. It made the entire reading experience a big waste of time.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Thriller
Great Book from James Patterson. First couple of chapters are a little slow, but they give you the picture for what's going to happen next, and the ending, WOW! The ending was so unexpected I needed to go back and re-read to make sure I didn't miss something. I highly recommend this book to the thriller lovers.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hard to Put Down Thriller with Plenty of Twists and Turns
In the exclusive Beach Road section in East Hampton, New York, movie star T. Smitty Wilson has a regulation basketball court on his property and though he is often not home, he lets his friends -- and he has many, from ex-NBA players to promising high school and college players -- use his court. These games are often heated, as the players take the game very seriously.

High School player Dante Halleyville is a bright prospect expected to get a mega bonus when he graduates. He can play with the best of them and during a game with Tom Dunleavy, a former athelete who is now a defense attorney, Michael Walker is going in for a basket and a fight breaks out. Dunleavy tries to break it up, Walker pulls a gun, Dunleavy calms him down. This is basketball taken a little too seriously.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Great story, bad last few chapters
I couldn't but this book down. It kept me reading and I was so eager to read the next page. I liked everythin about it until the end.. Come on...Every thing i loved about the book Didn't make sence after i ready the last chapters. I think they tried to hard for a Shocking endng that the messed the whole thing up.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I loved this book!
I usually pride myself on being able to figure out the "culprit" before the end of the book; I was quite surprised!
I personally like that James Patterson writes short chapters because I can put the book down at the end of a chapter.....or if I want to read a little more, the next chapter won't be very long either.
I've passed this book along to friends and they were as surprised as I was at the ending.
